HOW DO FILLERS WORK?

Dermal Fillers work by replacing lost volume, adding support and structure to the skin and reshaping the contours of the face. Most of our Dermal Fillers contain hyaluronic acid which is a substance found naturally in the body which is important for hydrating tissues and also plays a role in collagen stimulation. The synthetic form used in dermal filler injections safely and effectively replaces the hyaluronic acid your skin has lost, bringing back its volume. This can also smooth away facial wrinkles and folds, shape contours, plump lips and much more.

SCULPTRA ® is a collagen-stimulating injection which is used to improve the appearance of ageing skin and restore volume to the face. Sculptra is most suitable for those with significant volume loss and is a safe and effective injectable treatment which acts as a potent collagen stimulator. The treatment gradually restores facial volume and contours over a period of months for a natural look, and lasts 2-3 years.

YOUR TREATMENT

Before any treatment you will have a consultation with one of our Aesthetic Nurses who will assess your suitability, desired outcome and budget, before recommending a treatment plan.

The treatment time varies depending on what areas are being treated but should be no longer than around 30 minutes. Most of our dermal filler treatments are done using a fine cannula to minimise the number of injections, reduce trauma and prevent complications. You may feel some mild discomfort but this should be minimal and short-lived.

You will normally see the results immediately, although there may be some initial swelling so it’s best to wait a few days to see the actual result. The treatment will usually last around 9-12 months depending on the area being treated and the product being injected.

You will be provided with aftercare advice to ensure that the treated area heals well and your results are the best they can be.
