WHAT IS AMEELA®?

Ameela® is an innovative new aesthetic treatment which uses polynucleotides derived from salmon to regenerate the skin. These polynucleotides connect with multiple receptors in the skin cells to trigger a cascade of restorative processes. Stem cells are attracted to the area resulting in a strong repairing effect on the tissue which results in an instant tightening and hydration of the tissues. Polynucleotides also trigger the formation of new capillaries to improve the micro circulation and oxygenation of the skin resulting in clearer skin and reduction in dark circles.

It also has a long-term protective effect by targeting free radicals (the main cause of ageing and skin deterioration) and neutralising them, thereby combating further skin damage. This free radical activity also prolongs the activity of hyaluronic acid, reducing its destruction by around 40% so it can be combined with treatments such as Profhilo and Dermal Fillers to prolong the duration of their effects.

WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT INVOLVE?

Before any treatment you will have a full consultation with one of our Aesthetic Nurses who will assess your suitability for treatment, provide all the information you require and answer any questions you have. The areas for treatment will be identified and marked out then injections will be performed using a fine cannula to minimise the number of injections and reduce the risk of bruising. The treatment will take 10-20 minutes depending on the areas being treated. During this time you will feel minimal discomfort, any pain is minimal and short-lived. Afterwards a healing cream will be applied and you will be given aftercare advice. You may have some mild swelling, bruising and tenderness for up to a week but this will be barely noticeable. You will start to see results around 7-14 days after treatment but optimum results aren't seen until around 6-8 weeks after treatment. For best results, we recommend a further session 2-4 weeks later, followed by maintenance treatment every 9-12 months.
